A graduate of Dixie High School, Ben Steele has spent his career in Helper, Utah, a former railroad and mining town that became, almost by accident, an artists’ enclave. Working out of a repurposed industrial building on Main Street, he paints in a range of styles, but is best known for a single, restless habit: taking the icons of art history and pop culture and running them through a distinctly Utah lens.
