Allen Park Landscape Tour
Allen Park sits along Emigration Creek and stands out as one of Salt Lake City’s most unique places. It was once the private home and aviary of Dr. George Allen, who spent years shaping the grounds. Today, visitors know the park for its winding paths, wildlife, and the poems, mosaics, and sculptures found throughout. Now owned by Salt Lake City, Allen Park is starting a new chapter as the City works to protect its history and turn it into a welcoming, walkable space for everyone. Join Amy Reid, the landscape historian leading Allen Park’s development for Salt Lake City, for a guided walking tour. Amy will talk about the park’s history, its unique art, and share details about the City’s plans to restore important buildings, protect the art, improve Emigration Creek, and support the park’s natural environment. This work follows Allen Park’s 2022 Cultural Landscape Report and the 2024 Adaptive Reuse and Management Plan. The project is also working toward sustainable SITES certification.
